Clippity Clip - a tip

Clips. Love them. Like this guy.

I recently started working with faux leather.  Pins are a no no as they would leave holes in the material.  I don't even think I would be able to get pins through some of the layers that result when making a bag with pleather.  Even with fabric bags I sometimes have problems with pins and layers.  

Clips are easy.  I use them all the time now, even when a pin would do.  Haven't used the latter in the last 4 bags I've made.  

It's easy to test things out by quickly clipping pieces together.  Clipping a bag lining to the exterior is much faster that pinning.  Well, at least for me.  That means I'm more likely to test how things fit  before sewing together.  (I'm impatient like that).  

My pins still have spot in my sewing box should I need them, but for now my dollar store clips are serving me well.. See action shot below:
