Furoshiki

Happy New Year!

I came across this interesting concept of Furoshiki.  From wikipedia, "Furoshiki (風呂敷, furoshiki) are a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that were frequently used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods."  Basically a square piece of material is folded and tied to produce all different types of bags.

I found the Myfuroshiki blog, with some instructions on how to create some.

I also found this video that demostrates how to make a few different types.

Some fun for my first post of 2013.  Hopefully I will be getting back to some sewing soon!  I also got a new toy for some other crafting fun, so I might be posting some non-sewing projects as well.
