Envelope Clutch

I had posted about a sew along at See Kate Sew a couple weeks ago for an envelope clutch.  In the end didn't get the chance to make it during the sew along but decided to make it as part of a gift I'm sending for a swap..

 Cute huh..

The tutorial calls for a button closure.. But I decided to do this closure instead. (Although I really should try out using my button hole foot).

Boo to the mis-oriented lining
Another modification I was to forgo the "dips"on either side of the centre piece.  To do this I just folded the pattern a bit deeper.  (It will make sense if you take a look at the orginal clutch and pattern)

I also top stitched around the opening to keep that vinyl in its place.

This is a great tutorial for a quick project.. Pattern is one piece, should take you 1hr or less.

  4. Great modification for the closure. Once you do your first buttonhole, you'll wonder why you didn't do one sooner.
